HOW TO READ THIS BOARD
What every number on this page means
ဝယ် and ရောင်း
Every two-sided row shows what a dealer buys (ဝယ်) and what they sell (ရောင်း). The gap between them is the dealer's margin, usually 2–3% of the mid. If you are turning kyat into dollars, the ရောင်း column is the one that applies to you.
The change column
The percentage is measured against the previous calendar day, not the last update, and it is taken from the sell side. When there is no previous day to compare against, the cell shows a dash — that means "no comparison available", not "unchanged".
Gold grades
Gold is quoted per tical, and a tical is about 16.606 grams. စနစ်ဟောင်း and စနစ်သစ် are different purity standards for the same 16 ပဲရည် weight, so they are never merged into one number. Rows marked calculated are estimates from the world spot price and the dollar rate.
Pending and stale
Pending means no source has published a value we can verify. Stale means the value is real but older than today. Yesterday's number is never carried forward as today's, because a plausible wrong price is worse than a visible gap.
Bank counter rates
These are the rates banks publish for their own counters — for customs, imports and official paperwork. They sit well below the street rate and are kept in their own panel so the two are never confused.
Crypto prices
The crypto panel shows USD spot prices and candle charts from CoinGecko. They are not Myanmar exchange rates, not bank rates, and not a recommendation to buy or sell anything.

The USD to MMK market rate is published on this page with separate buy and sell quotes. These are parallel-market rates and differ from the official CBM rate.

Why can some rates show "Pending"?
When a source has not published or cannot be verified, the value stays pending rather than being filled with a guess. A missing price is more honest than a stale one presented as current.
Where do I find the bank counter rates?
The "Myanmar bank counter rates" panel further up this page lists rates published directly by UAB Bank and AYA Bank, with the date each bank posted them. These are kept separate from the market board because they are counter rates for customs and official use, not the rates most people actually trade at. We publish only banks whose rate we can read and verify ourselves; other banks may publish different figures on their own channels.
Why is the bank rate so different from the market rate?
Official rates are set centrally and move slowly, while market rates follow supply and demand daily. The gap between them is normal and widens when official supply is tight.
How do I know what each column on this page means?
